The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Medical Library Association is very happy to announce that inaugural winner of the MAC Award for Professional Excellence by a New Health Sciences Librarian is Melissa Ratajeski.
At the Health Sciences Library System at the University of Pittsburgh where she started work after attaining her MLIS in 2006, Melissa is the liaison to the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee and the dental hygiene program. She was one of the founding members of the Systematic Review Instructional Team which has launched her into service locally and nationally supporting those participating in Systematic Reviews. Melissa also regularly publishes and presents at professional meetings. She actively participates in MAC serving as the MAC Chapter Representative for Chapter Council and as the Chapter Council Liaison to the National Membership Committee. She volunteered as a committee member of the contributed posters for the MAC annual meeting in Richmond in 2011 and currently chairs the contributed poster committee for the annual meeting in Pittsburgh, 2013. Melissa is a Senior member of AHIP. Melissa is a leader, professionally active, publishes and presents frequently, and is a nationally recognized educator. Congratulations, Melissa!
